On this day in American history, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States, was assassinated in Dallas.
Kennedy was traveling in a ten-mile motorcade through downtown Dallas, Texas with his wife and Texas Governor John Connally and his wife. They were driving in a convertible and waving to the crowd as pictured below. At approximately 12:30 pm, shots rang out overhead injuring Governor Connally and assassinating President Kennedy.
