May J. Greenman was born on September 4, 1874 in Keokuk, Iowa. She was the oldest of four children born to parents Clark Curtis Greenman and Anne Sophia Hyce.
On Februay 26, 1896, May married John Davis in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.

On November 14, 1930, May passed away at their residence. She was buried on November 18, 1930 in Acacia Park Cemetery in Norwood, Cook County, Illinois.
