Paul “Bud” Wade Eakins was born on January 3, 1927 in New Madrid, New Madrid County, Missouri. He was the second child of nine born to parents Benjamin Eakins and Alameda “Medie” Chambers. Throughout his life he goes by the name “Bud” for the most part. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Arkansas. Pearl Harbor Attack – 70th Anniversary
On this day in history, December 7, 1941, the United States naval base Pearl Harbor in Hawaii was attacked by Japanese bombers and warplanes. On this, the 70th anniversary of this attack on US soil, we remember the 2,400 Americans who were killed and many more that were injured.
